Each course covers theory, knowledge, as well as practical, hands-on experience designed to prepare you to begin your gardening journey upon successful completion.

This 3-part series course will introduce you to the fundamentals of growing and caring for 1) Fruit trees, 2) Vegetable gardens, and 3) Herbs, as well as their uses. The course will cover the basics of the theories, concepts, and methods of a unique and proprietary gardening style developed by the instructor, Jade Luu, over her 20 years experience of learning, teaching, and growing as a learner, educator, and certified Permaculture Designer & Gardener, as well as a Theodore Payne Foundation Certified California Native Plants Landscaper. Through this course, you will discover Jade’s special method of gardening which is the culmination of what she considers as the most essential principles, knowledge, methods and tools of Organic Gardening, Permaculture design, Biodynamic gardening, and Native Plants Growing and Landscaping. Course fees will include materials, including readings, soil and plant materials, as well as Ellume Gardens Biodynamically Grown Herbal Tea & water. Each 2-hour course is an immersion experience, designed to give you hands-on and practical experience in order to prepare you to begin planting upon completion of the courses. The course topic for each session covers the following:

2) Vegetable Gardening - Saturday, January 4, 2025

3) Herbs Gardening & Applications - Saturday, January 18, 2025

*PLEASE NOTE: This course is designed to be a hands-on experience to provide you with the practical knowledge of the methods to begin planting and gardening upon successful completion of the course.

-DRESS: Please wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or boots. Also, you may want to bring a hat as we will be outdoors for the entirety of the class. WATER: Will be provided, but you may bring a water bottle if you would like to use your own. -PARKING: There is plenty of street parking on Auburn St. and Waverly Dr. REQUIRED: All students must complete the accompanying registration form embedded at the bottom of the course purchase page.
